maui day 4

wednesday proved to be a day exactly as i had hoped for. michael spent the morning playing golf at yet another gorgeous golf course. i stayed around the resort waiting for my massage. i headed to the spa about 10am. it was time for my marvelous, prenatal cocoa-butter massage. the best part? i got to lay on a big foam kind of a pillow with an indentation for my belly. it was the first time i'd been able to lay on my belly for a few months. so nice! because of the cocoa butter, the room smelled deliciously of chocolate. yummy!

when my massage had done it's job and relaxed me and my back nicely, i put on my swimsuit and some sunscreen, grabbed a book and headed down to the pool. i just had to make one pit-stop first. on tuesday night, when we got back to our room, we noticed a certificate for each of us. we each got to choose and keep a pair of maui jim sunglasses for free! with my certificate in hand, i made my way to the lobby.

there were 5 maui jim reps set up with a display of about 10 different types of sunglasses to choose from. all of the glasses have the type of lenses that help take the glare and reflection off of what you're looking at. man, i only thought hawaii was beautiful before i started wearing these glasses!

happy with my sunglass choice, i made my way to the pool. stretching out on a beach chair, nicely located to an umbrella, i read. i sat in the sun, watching people and reading. it was so incredibly relaxing. when i got hungry, i ordered something a turkey wrap and a root beer from the waitress walking around. along with that turkey wrap came possibly the best crinkle fries i've ever had. i'm getting dizzy just thinking about them. whoa, were they delicious.

after a few hours, michael arrives back at the resort. he grabs his certificate and picks out his sunglasses on the way to the pool.

we hung out in the water for an hour or two and decided it was time to head our for dinner. we got ready and walked down to the lobby to meet the shuttle. along with a few other people, we made our way to the shops at wialea for dinner and some shopping. we chose to share a burger and some chili-cheese-fries. the dr pepper was out of this world good! :) dinner was followed by some praline-pecan ice cream from lapperts. my first experience with this ice cream was when jenny and i went to hawaii in 2004. that may have been one of the first places we went once we got to our condo. :) this time, it might have been even better. the ice cream is smooth and creamy. there is a ton of caramel and the pecans are crunchy and sweet. praise the Lord for that cup of goodness.

while enjoying that ice cream from heaven, dancers put on a show. there were about 12 girls from the age of 4 to 18. each and every one of them could shake it. those little 4 year olds were stinkin cute in their grass skirts, coconut bras and long hair to their waists. we were so sad to not have our camera!
when the show was over we caught the shuttle back to our hotel and settled in for a relaxing night that put us early to bed. all in all, wednesday was a wonderfully relaxing hawaiian day.
